“Do not disturb” and guests who don’t want cleaning

What to do when there is a sign on the door or a guest declines cleaning. Kleenee moves the work for you.

Who it is for: Housekeepers and maintenance

There is a sign on the door

On the task, press Do not disturb.

  1. The first time: the task stays yours and moves 4 hours later. It shows Recheck and the time to check again.
  2. The sign is still there: press Do not disturb again. Today’s task is cancelled, and you get the same task tomorrow at the same time of day, labelled Moved here because of “Do not disturb”.

For a stay-over clean, tomorrow’s task is only created if the guest stays beyond tomorrow; if they leave tomorrow, the room gets its departure cleaning anyway.

If you had already started the task, the room goes back to Dirty, because the cleaning isn’t finished.

If you recorded the sign by mistake, press Clear “Do not disturb”.

The guest doesn’t want cleaning

On a stay-over clean, press Guest declined cleaning today. The task is cancelled with the note Skipped: the guest declined cleaning. The front desk can do the same when the guest tells them.

The next stay-over clean comes as the property’s rule says.
