How bookings become tasks
A new booking, changed dates, a cancellation: what Kleenee does with the cleaning in each case.
Who it is for: Owners and managersEvery booking in Kleenee (from a calendar, a PMS or the front desk) has its own cleaning after departure. Kleenee looks after it by itself.
| Change | What happens to the cleaning |
|---|---|
| New booking | A cleaning is created on the departure day, due at the property’s check-out time. |
| Departure day or room changed | The cleaning moves to the new day or room, if it hasn’t started. |
| Booking cancelled or gone from the calendar | The cleaning is cancelled, even if it has started. |
| A cancelled booking is back | The cancelled cleaning comes back, with a new due time. |
| A new guest arrives the day the previous one leaves | The cleaning gets Priority priority. |
Kleenee only checks future stays: a booking already in the past stays as it is.
What Kleenee reads from a calendar
Only arrival and departure dates and the booking’s reference. We keep no guest names, phone numbers or notes, even though some calendars send them. See What guest data we keep.
Blocked dates
- Airbnb: dates you blocked yourself don’t become stays.
- Booking.com: in the calendar every taken date looks the same, so a date you closed by hand also becomes a stay with a cleaning. Cancel that cleaning on its task page.
When the front desk changes a stay
Changes made at the front desk win over the calendar: if the front desk records an early check-out, an extension or a room change, the calendar won’t undo it at the next check. If the channel later moves the departure to a later day, that counts as an extension too.
Why the task isn’t assigned
Cleanings from bookings have no assignee, because only you know who is on shift and on which floor. Assign them on the Daily plan page.
